Recently reopened after extensive renovations, the Ancient Plant Garden displays living relatives of many ancient plants, some now extinct. Mosses, ferns, horsetails, ginko trees, and flowering plants can be seen from a looping wooden boardwalk. Lurking among the palm trees and ferns is a topiary dinosaur that apparently wandered in from another epoch. Entrance is east of Friend Gate. Photos from this zone can be viewed here. |
